Read the tragic story, as published by the East Orlando Sun on February 28, 2007.

My healthy 3-year-old dog Toby tragically died within five days of a routine dental cleaning at the Union Park Animal Hospital in Orlando, Florida.  He was perfectly healthy before his dental cleaning, but his apparent exposure to a bacterial contamination (as referenced in Union Park's statement below) caused nearly every organ in his body to fail (as discovered in his autopsy).

My baby puppy Toby outwardly bled through his skin, soaking my shirt in his blood, as he screamed in pain in my arms.  We were not made aware of any other unusual and sudden pet deaths and/or illnesses until after Toby died.

Some victims were not aware of the existence of Union Park's statement below, until after my story aired on ABC Local 9 WFTV News on March 2 - 4, 2007, nearly 2 months after Toby's death.

The following is the Union Park Animal Hospital's "To Whom It May Concern" statement regarding the incident, which was given to me in person at Union Park on January 4, 2007 (the day after Toby's death).  Click here to download this statement as a .PDF file.

As the statement begins, "Recent events have led us to believe that several animals (8 so far) treated at our hospital were exposed to a potentially life threatening nosocomial disease...".
